Salvete from NYC

Our Latin students headed into Manhattan for the Paideia Institute's Living Latin in New York City conference at Fordham University. Over two days, students immersed themselves in the ancient world alongside Latin teachers, professors, and fellow students.

They attended lectures on this year's theme, Otium et Negotium (leisure and work), and participated in small-group breakout sessions about the works of St. Benedict, Erasmus, Martial and other ancient and medieval authors. Latin was the only language spoken!

The weekend included a trip to the Metropolitan art museum, attending Mass at beautiful Saint Vincent Ferrer Church, praying near a relic of Saint Thomas Aquinas, karaoking to Let it Go (in Latin, of course), and holding many Latin conversations.
