Veronica Mylott Competes in Pittsburgh's 48 Hour Film Project

Aquinas alumna Veronica Mylott ('23) is currently studying film at LaRoche University. She and a few other students entered Pittsburgh's 48 Hour Film Project, which is an exciting weekend competition that takes place in cities all over the country.

Film teams — which include experienced professionals down to beginners — first draw a genre, specific character, and a prop out of a hat and head out to make a film. They must write, shoot, and edit their films within the 48 hour time frame. After a screening of all entries, judges award prizes for categories like Best Acting, Best Costumes, and Best Writing.

Veronica's team submitted a film entitled, "Blood on Her Lips", which was nominated for four awards: Best Lighting, Best Student Film, Best Costume Design, and Best Poster. They walked away with a third place for Best Poster, and first place for Best Lighting.

You can read more about the 48 Hour Film Project at their website.
