Affording Aquinas

Tuition for the 2026-2027 academic year is as follows:

Family Tuition Cap

No family will be obliged to pay more than $43,000 in K-12 tuition regardless of number of children enrolled.

Tuition may be paid in one of the following ways:

1. One installment due August 15.
2. Semi-Annual payments due August 15 and January 15.
3. Quarterly payments due August 15, November 15, February 15, and May 15.
4. Monthly payments - must be made through the Veracross Student System.

Additional payment plan details will be provided upon enrollment in the academy. 

Enrollment Fee

All new students pay a non-refundable enrollment fee.  Returning students pay an annual re-enrollment fee. 

• New students + all incoming Kindergarten student - $500
• Returning students (K-12) - $300, if received by due date
• Returning students (K-12) - $350, if received after due date

Activities Fee

A one-time, non-refundable, annual activities fee to cover the cost of educational field trips, in-school celebrations, and team activities. For the 2025-2026 school year, the fee is:

• $75 for the lower school
• $100 for the middle school
• $150 for the high school (which includes the annual High School retreat).

Cafeteria Fee

A $50 annual cafeteria fee will be charged to each family to cover the cost of supervision and safety measures in the lunchroom and at recess. This fee will be included in your oldest child’s tuition and fee schedule.

Additional fees, not listed above, may be incurred for activities such as Athletics and the After Day Program.

Families can apply for need-based aid by completing an online application through the FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment Site. Eligibility is based on income levels and is assessed through the FACTS application process. Families must apply each year for need-based financial aid. The application deadline for need-based aid is April 30.

Aquinas Academy Need-Based Aid

Available for grade K-12 students through funding from the Pennsylvania Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) and the OSTC (Opportunity Tax Scholarship Credit) programs. Funds are also available to assist current families who may experience a sudden unexpected financial hardship.

The State sets income qualifying guidelines as follows:

Diocesan Need-Based Aid

Available for grade PreK-12 students through the Bishop’s Education Fund, administered by the Diocese of Pittsburgh. Families who meet the requirements of the Bishop’s Education Fund can apply for this aid through the same application on the FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment Site. 

New students entering grades 6-10 may apply for merit-based scholarships. To be eligible for a merit-based award, families are encouraged, but not required to complete the FACTS online application. Completing the FACTS application provides families with the opportunity to combine financial aid and merit-based assistance.   

• St. Thomas Aquinas Scholarships - Awarded to the students who have demonstrated academic excellence, virtuous character, and evidence of leadership.  Deadline to apply is January 30.
• Founders Scholarships - Awarded to the students who exhibit strong leadership skills and demonstrate academic excellence/potential.  Deadline to apply is March 15.
• Crusader Scholarships - Awarded to the students who exemplify Christian living, cheerful service and demonstrate academic excellence/potential.  Deadline to apply is March 15.

Once you have applied to Aquinas Academy, merit-based scholarship applications are submitted through the Admissions Portal.  

What types of financial assistance does Aquinas Academy offer?

Aquinas Academy offers financial aid scholarships for qualifying students in grades K-12 and merit scholarships for new students in grades 6-10.  Families can also apply for assistance through the Bishop's Education Fund administered by the Diocese of Pittsburgh.  

How do I apply for financial assistance?

Aquinas Academy utilizes the FACTS Grant & Aid program to process financial aid applications.  The FACTS application link can be found here:  FACTS Management.  You only need to complete one application for both Aquinas Academy financial aid and the Diocesan Bishop's Education Fund aid.  

What if my student will not qualify for financial aid but will need some financial assistance to afford Aquinas Academy

New student merit scholarships are available to students in grades 6-10.  Scholarship applications are completed once you have begun the application process in our Admissions Portal.  

After completing the financial aid and scholarship applications, I'm still not sure if Aquinas Academy is affordable for my student. Are there any other options?
