Admissions

The first step towards admission at Aquinas Academy is to complete an Inquiry Form, which helps us get to know your family, and ensures you receive the information necessary for the admissions process. In order to complete the short Inquiry Form you must first create an account in Veracross, our admissions portal. Once an account is created you gain access to an admissions checklist, requirements to be completed, and opportunities to visit campus.

A visit offers the opportunity to connect with our school leadership team, tour the campus, talk with teachers, observe learning in action, and envision your family as part of the Aquinas community. There are several options for this initial visit including: a private tour, attending a scheduled Open House (Saturday, October 11 and February 7) or High School Information Night (Tuesday, October 28).

Prior to your visit, it would be helpful to complete the Candidate Demographic and Parent Questionnaire in the application checklist.
 

Download the Transcript Request Form from Veracross and submit to your child's school. This release allows the school to share your child’s records with the Aquinas Academy admissions team. You may also scan and upload copies of report cards (PreK-12th) and standardized tests (5th-12th only). This requirement is waived for PreK and Kindergarten applicants who are not yet in a program.

The Personal Recommendation can be submitted by someone from your church, a friend, neighbor, or coach who knows you and your child well (not a family member).

We also value the perspective of your child’s current teacher, and look forward to receiving their feedback. The Teacher Recommendation is waived for PreK and Kindergarten applicants who are not yet in a program.

Both the Personal and Teacher Recommendation requests are submitted directly by the recommender, through the admissions portal. You will receive a real-time update when the forms have been returned.

Rising PreK, Kindergarten and 1st: The day includes the parents and student meeting with the Admissions Director and another member of the school leadership team, a 20-minute assessment of the student with a member of our faculty, and joining class for 30 minutes. This will be scheduled at a time convenient for the family and the school.

Rising 2nd, 3rd, 4th: The day includes the parents and student meeting with the Admissions Director and another member of the school leadership team, a 30-minute assessment with a member of our faculty, and observing 2-3 classes.  This takes place from 8:15-10:45.

Rising 5th-8th: The day includes the parents and student meeting with the Admissions Director and another member of the school leadership team, followed by shadowing a student for 4 classes, lunch and recess. This takes place from 8:15-12:15.

Rising 9th-12th: The day includes the parents and student meeting with the Admissions Director and Division Director, followed by shadowing a student for 5 classes, lunch and Mass. This takes place from 8:15-2:15.
Attending our 8th Grade Crusader for a Day on Thursday, November 13 is also a consideration in fulfillment of this requirement.
 

We offer two placement test dates: Saturday, November 22 (to qualify for the St. Thomas Aquinas Scholarship) and the make-up date on Saturday, March 7.  Both tests are from 9:00am -12:00pm.

A $50 application fee is required to finalize your child’s application (6th-12th grade only). You will be able to monitor your application checklist and upload any necessary supplementary documents. All progress will be documented in your child’s checklist, and we will be certain to remind you of upcoming events, missing documentation, and scholarship deadlines.
